The Forest of Dean Golf Club was founded in 1973 and is situated in the beautiful and unspoilt Area of Outstanding Beauty that is the Forest of Dean.
With unique rolling parkland, lakes, streams, bunkers and woodland, this par 70 eighteen hole golf course provides a challenge to all categories of golfers and is a joy to play.
 The golf course is well-maintained and mature with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and is easily playable yet also affords those more experienced golfers a welcome challenge. Those who like an easy start will be pleased to know that the hotel is adjacent to the first tee, allowing you to start your game straightaway. The Forest of Dean Golf Club complex also incorporates a large practice ground, practice green and putting green and can boast that it has never been closed since its establishment; no temporary greens have ever been used.
 The course and services offered at the Forest of Dean Golf Club are exemplified by the rate of rebooking; 75% of those who play the course re-book, some having done so for many years. As with the hotel, here at Bells we aim to exceed your expectations in every aspect of our facility and the golf course is no exception. For those who like to enjoy some post-golf relaxation, then look no further than our superb Forest of Dean restaurant the Club House at Bells where you'll find everything you need. The chefs at Potters Restaurant will prepare you a fresh home-cooked meal with first class service and a relaxing atmosphere created by our experienced chefs, perfect after your long day on the golf course.
If you want to carry on into the evening then Henry's Bar is a lively and fun place to be, with a variety of quality beers and guest ales as well as tasty bar snacks served all day.
On the weekends there is usually live music for your enjoyment and an atmosphere to please the most exuberant guests! The Club House is separate to the hotel, so if you are a society or a group of golfers you need not feel inhibited in your merriment!

Here at Bells we are keen to look after our members but we are also eager to welcome all non-members and societies that might wish to experience the facilities we have to offer. The beauty of the surrounding Forest of Dean attracts thousands of visitors each year and many of these like to enjoy a round of golf as part of their holiday.
Bells are pleased to offer a variety of golfing breaks and leisure facilities that aim to please visiting golfers as well as any non-golfers who may accompany them.
Corporate golf has become increasingly popular in the modern business age as a way of developing better customer relations and improving company profile and image. We recognise this growth and more specifically understand what really goes into making any client entertainment through golf a truly memorable day for those taking part.
Corporate golf days at the Forest of Dean Golf Club can be arranged to suit your individual needs and corporate gifts and prizes with your company logo are also available.
Society days are also a popular phenomenon in the golf world today and we welcome all societies to The Bells Hotel. These society days can be arranged from a minimum of four people and there are numerous packages available that can be tailored to individual needs if necessary.
